If a truck is not needed and you only need the two men to help you move, you can book our services by booking in our small truck for that day. As a result, the quote you get for the small truck is your quote for this special type of move.

There is a minimum 2 hour charge for all moves.

Our crews are experienced and will get in and move you as quickly and carefully as possible, but ultimately they can only deal with whatever you give them.

You can further control the time the move takes by helping out as much or as little as you like – the more you do, the less time your move will take and consequently the more money you will save.

Of course! We strongly believe you should be free to control your cost. With Five Star Movers and Storage, the more you do, the less we do, the less your move will cost. You can take this to any extreme. It’s your choice.

90% of moves can be completed in one trip, however with special circumstances (property settlements) or if moving more than 20 minutes drive time from the pick-up address and the load exceeds a single load, we will do two trips or send a second truck.

The Five Star Movers system is very flexible. Often we can move someone with as little as a few hours notice. Of course, Murphy’s Law applies, so when you try to book at short notice we will be fully booked so we suggest you book as soon as you know, where and when you need to move. 1 to 2 weeks would be fairly normal.

No, There is no penalty providing it is rebooked with us in a reasonable time frame.

Our system will provide you with an arrival time between one time and another time. If you need a phone call 30 minutes before, you’ll need to give us a call to arrange this.

We used to tell customers that we would arrive at (say) 8am. At 2 minutes past 8am, many customers rang; concerned that we may not arrive (we have NEVER failed to do a job). We will not promise anything we can not deliver. We give you two times, between which we estimate we will arrive. 87% of the time we arrive near the first time but we cannot estimate the exact time the previous job will end.

We understand the dilemma of not having an “exact” arrival time. Where you need to meet us at an address that you would not normally be at i.e. when moving from a self storage, we can organize to call you up to 30 minutes before the move. You do need to advise our Sales Centre that you require this service.

We can move pool tables up to the 8’ x 4’ size. There is a once off surcharge of $66 for the heavy lifting involved with these items. Please tell us when booking that you have a pool table so we can send you suitably qualified crew.

We move spa pools that cater for up to 4 people.

Fixed Price:

Traditional sales people from other companies calculate a fixed price based on the estimated MAXIMUM time each part of your move will take. They always allow time for more than expected so fixed prices are costed to the maximum time it may take.

Hourly Rate:

With an hourly rate you only pay for what you use PLUS with Five Star Movers, we let you go a step further and help (if you wish) so you can further reduce the time taken.

We charge a 2 hour minimum and charge in 30 minute lots or part thereof after the first hour.

Saturdays & Sundays are very busy moving days.  As an incentive to move mid-week, we have lower rates Monday to Friday.

Fair Charging – Five Star Movers services are charged to and from the most suitable depot for your move – usually between your pick up and drop off addresses. This is because we believe in paying our people fairly for the time they work whilst keeping your costs to a minimum.

Our charge is based on the time it actually takes to get from the charging depot to your address, and the return trip is estimated based on distance and the time of day- all estimates are realistic. Also, the travel times are listed separately on your invoice, so we are upfront about our charges.

Payment will be taken at the completion of your move.

Visa, & Mastercard.  Unlike other companies, we don’t add on any surcharge for paying this way.

Yes, we offer full storage facilities.

Yes.  Transit Insurance includes cover for Fire, Rollover & Theft.  Chips and scratches are very unlikely and rarely occur.  Refer to our insurance agents for quote to be arranged and as a general guide costs around $250 per $10,000 of cover.

We have a hint sheet with the information you need.

We ask that you give us 24 hours notice so we can stand down crews that would have otherwise been allocated to work. If you do not cancel your booking and our truck arrives, there is a standard 3 hr minimum fee charged.

We can supply a professional packer (or a team for large moves) to pack your belongings into boxes safely and securely. Whatever the Five Star Movers packer packs, is also covered by the Guarantee, as long as we are moving it. Once again, you have the total freedom, and may want to pack your personal items and have Five Star Movers pack your breakables only- the choice is yours.
